The Starter Class

This class runs from 8 to 9pm every Thursday evening (note: this class is currently full) at Buriton Village Hall and 2 to 3pm on Wednesday afternoons at Napier Hall, Horndean. The class is open to all dogs (although we recommend the puppy group first for puppies) and the course covers the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze and Silver Awards .kclogo_s

The fee is £40 for 8 weeks on Thursdays or £5 per week on Wednesdays.

The class size is limited and usually fully booked in advance. Click here if you would like to reserve a place .

Dogs who have already achieved their silver award, or have a high level of training can enroll in the Advanced Class.

Unfortunately we cannot allow aggresive or problem dogs into any classes, but are prepared to help via a one-2-one  consultation.

First Time at Classes

The first class is the induction session. The focus will be on getting the dogs (and handlers!) to relax in each other’s company and very little productive training can be done until the dogs are happy in their surroundings, which usually comes within a week or two.

Please remember to bring the following with you:-

·        Your puppy’s favourite toy (a quick game is the ideal way to get your dog to relax and enjoy their training).

·        Some tit-bits (very important for training, especially in the early days, as food is both a reward and lure for the dogs. Bits of cheese or hot dog sausages make good and cheap tit-bits).

·        A clicker – the most important training aid! These will be available to buy if you do not already have one.

·        Your dog’s vaccination certificate (Our insurers insist all dogs are vaccinated).

Unfortunately we cannot allow any dogs who are unwell to attend. However, if this does apply to anyone they are more than welcome to come along without their dog to watch the class and continue with their training at home.
